How
does
Educational Rescue uses cognitive therapy. It deals with all aspects of the child’s life: learning, behaviour, emotion, family, parents, school, friends, and more. A cycle of assessment, diagnosis and treatment highlights areas of the child’s world that require special attention. Problems are addressed by changing inappropriate thinking patterns and introducing more appropriate (behavioural or learning) skills. It is important that implemented changes are mirrored throughout the child’s world, therefore, parents are kept informed and are regularly advised on how to deal with problem situations. If relevant, the school is also involved (with the prior consent of the parents).
